Deep-blue Alkaline Solution used to test for the presence of the aldehyde functional group (-CHO) or simple sugards (e.g. glucose). Reacts chemically like Fehling’s slution.

Benedict’s test is a simple chemistry test that is used to detect reducing sugars.
