Ice Cold Packs

The new and improved cold packs are less prone to breakage and are more efficient.

We recommend you use the cold pack for 24 months before replacing it with a new one as the gel slowly denatures over time and will become less effective.

• Weight: 370 grams
• Volume: 370ml (when frozen, it is no longer a liquid and therefore safe to fly with. Remember to freeze the packs for the return flight if they will be in your hand luggage otherwise they might be confiscated.)

Instructions:

Chill the cold packs in the fridge for 6 hours then freeze the cold packs for a minimum of 14 hours. Precooling the cold packs helps to create a more even, gentle bump when the packs freeze. Warm packs that are placed straight into the freezer run the risk of developing pointy bulges when frozen, which could make it difficult to close the case once medication has been placed in it.

After 14+ hours, take the cold packs out of the freezer and leave them standing upright on the kitchen worktop for approx. 40 minutes.

Wait until the frosty coating turns to water droplets.  This is the visual cue that the cold packs are conditioned.

Place a buffer board on top of each conditioned cold pack and slide into the pockets of the case so that the buffer boards lie between the cold packs and the medication.

When the case stabilizes at a temperature below 8°C it is safe for your medication to go inside.

If the temperature drops below 1.2°C, the conditioning time must be extended by 5-10 minutes.
