1. Piston Rings:

   • Two types of piston rings:
     • Compressor Ring (Pressure Ring): Positioned in the top grooves of the piston, it transfers heat from the piston to the cylinder liner. It also handles side thrust fluctuations.
     • Oil Controller Ring: Located below the compressor ring, it ensures proper lubrication between the piston and cylinder, while also scraping off excess oil.
   • Material: Cast iron and alloy cast iron.
