Potassium Iodate AR – The chemical formula for potassium iodate is KIO3 . Potassium Iodate is a well known compound which has grown popular due to its use as the main chemical compound for the iodization of edible common salts and for providing a convenient way of performing iodometric titration.

• Common uses of Potassium Iodate(KIO3) include:
  The iodination of common table salt (due to the ability of iodide to be oxidised by molecular oxygen to iodine under wet conditions.)
• Analysis of testing arsenic and zinc.
• Iodometric titration in the manufacturing of medicines.
• Maturing agent and dough conditioner in the food industry.
• To feed additives when used as a reagent.
