When using booster cables, it’s important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety precautions. Here are some general guidelines:

1. Park the vehicles close together, but not touching.
2. Make sure both vehicles are turned off and in park.
3. Identify the positive and negative terminals on both batteries. The positive terminal is usually red, and the negative terminal is black.
4. Connect the red clamp of the booster cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
5. Connect the black clamp of the booster cable to a metal grounding point on the vehicle with the good battery, away from the battery itself.
6. Start the vehicle with the good battery.
7. Try to start the vehicle with the dead battery.
8. Once the dead battery vehicle starts, remove the booster cables in the reverse order (black clamp first, then red clamp).
